Our multi-disciplinary team of licensed and skilled clinicians including Physiotherapists, Chiropractors,  Massage Therapists, Podiatrist, Counsellors and Registered Nurse and others offer quality care for the relief of pain conditions and musculoskeletal injuries. Our facility is equipped with the latest equipment as well as diagnosis and assessment tools based on best practices.   Our standards of care are consistently delivered, so patients receive the best care possible.

SPINEgroup has a very competitive process when selecting our registered clinical rehabilitation team.  Upon selection, our rehab clinicians receive ongoing training and mentoring in our evidence based protocols.  Staff are audited and their performance evaluated to ensure use of best practices and compliance.  You will be case managed by both our clinical director and registered nurse. These measures ensures only the most qualified, experienced and skilled doctors and therapists are selected to provide your care.

Our approach is always individualized and highly patient focused. Our clinical management team has in-depth knowledge of  rehabilitative medicine with clinical skills to assess, diagnose and treat MSK injury or disability, with the goal of helping patients regain strength, function, movement and overall better quality of life.

Dr. Connie D’Astolfo, DC, PhD (candidate)

Registered Nurse

James D’Astolfo, RN, Hons BSc (N), CCP

James holds a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing with honours from York University and is a Registered Nurse.  James also holds a certificate as a certified coach practitioner form the Coach’s Federation of Canada. James also works as long-term care nurse in Toronto.

James provides counselling and ADL rehabilitation to patients in clinic.  James also performs assessments such as in-home assessments, attendant care assessments, long term disability assessments, and offers case management services. In 2012, James was recognized as a Top Nurse in the North York area by the International Nursing Association (INA) and was published in the renowned journal, Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare. James is a member of Registered Nurses Association of Ontario.

Physiotherapists

Sandeep Sraw, RMT, MScPT.  Senior PT

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is IMG_0785.jpeg Sandeep completed her Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy and holds a dual license in Physiotherapy and Massage Therapy. Sandeep is in good standing with both College of Physiotherapy and the College of Massage Therapy of Ontario. Her treatment philosophy is based on evidence based practise, patient empowerment and patient self management. She strives to keep up to date on all the latest medical manual therapies, joint mobilization techniques, electrical modalities and exercise protocols. In her spare time, Sandeep enjoys yoga and keeping herself fit and healthy.

Sanil Taneja , MScPT (Resident PT)

Sanil has over 7 years experience as a physiotherapist and completed  Masters of Physiotherapy (Orthopedics/Musculoskeletal) in 2012. He specializes in the management of musculoskeletal disorders, exercise based treatment for chronic conditions and sports injuries.

Sanil strongly believes in empowering his patients through education and using preventive techniques. His primary aim with patients is to optimize their body function for immediate, longstanding results. He treats a wide range of problems in all age groups and activity levels.

Sanil enjoys playing cricket, badminton, traveling and working out. He believes that his career gives him the opportunity to serve peoples lives, make a difference and to have fulfillment while doing so.

Registered Massage Therapist

Ramiz Peygumbari, RMT

Ramiz (Ram) brings 9 years of RMT experience to our clinic. Ram graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Toronto. Aside from traditional Swedish massage techniques, Ram is specializing in fascial release and manipulation for various post injury musculoskeletal conditions. Ram can also include deep tissue techniques for chronic conditions of muscle strain.

Ram believes that proper nutrition, regular exercise and massage sessions are the means of embracing our body and maintaining its optimal health.

Registered Dietitian

Reza Nazem Boushehri, RD

Reza is a registered dietitian with over eight years experience in diverse health care settings, specializing in the prevention and management of chronic diseases. He is a member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario, Dietitians of Canada and Consulting Dietitians.

After completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Food and Nutrition, Reza worked at 600 bed hospital and assisted a lot of patients in the management of nutrition-related diseases. Then, as a corporate nutritionist, one of his role was providing nutritional intervention and counsellig to employees. As a result, he empowered 400 employees with hyperlipidemia to achieve an average reduction in blood Low-density Lipoprotein [LDL] levels by 10 % within a year.  Meanwhile, Reza worked with athletes, ranging from the recreational level to professional (National Gymnastics team of Iran) and empowered many of them to achieve their fitness and performance goals.

On his journey to update himself, he was graduated from Ryerson university, an International Dietetic Pre-Registration program. Then he worked at a private clinic in Newmarket and provided clients with an evidence-based information in nutrition for disease prevention and weight management. Now, it has been the second year that he enjoys serving older populations at Long-term care facilities in Toronto.

Reza provides nutrition counselling to adults and older adults with weight challenges, high cholesterol, high blood sugar level, high blood pressure, heart disease, gastrointestinal issues and etc. He believes in the prevention of coronary heart disease and most of cancers through life style modifications. Outside of his work, he is an advocate for Canadian Diabetes Association. He is also an avid swimmer and sports enthusiast.

Podiatrist 

Dr. Alan Silverstein, DPM

Dr. Silverstein was educated at State University of New York at Buffalo and New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He is licensed in Ontario, New York and California and has been in private practice in Toronto since 1973. He served as staff Podiatrist at Mount Sinai Hospital and Baycrest Hospital since 1973 and continues to be a member of The Ontario Podiatric Medical Association and the American Podiatric Medical Association.

Dr. Silverstein is available for orthotic fitting and casting for foot disorders including plantar fasciitis, pronation (flat feet), supination (high arches), ankle ligament instabilities and heel spurs.
